The Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) schedule 1 (‘Criminal Code’) was amended in 2024 to strengthen offences targeting the creation and non-consensual sharing of sexually explicit material online, including material that has been created or altered using technology such as deepfakes (see further ‘Image-based sexual offences (including “revenge porn” and “deep fakes”)’, in this chapter.
